Macroponics & Biotechnica - A History of Constant Innovation

Macroponics was formed on August 26th in 2019. The company had its humble beginnings in harvesting Microgreens for the use at local restaurants. As Macroponics began to grow, its sister company was founded, Biotechnica, this company was formed with the intention of creating irrigation systems for macroponics so that the company could harvest larger crops with greater effeciency. When Macroponics began expanding and developed interest in growing full grown crops, Biotechnica began working on the creation of GrowRight. GrowRight began as a hodgepodge of various 3rd party components assembled on a standard piece of plywood and over the course of 4 years the GrowRight system has been consistently improved by Biotechnica.

Today, Macroponics now sells the GrowRight 3.0 and features custom hardware and software that completely automates the entire hydroponic growing process. Biotechnica works very closely with macroponics and this has allowed the two companies to create hardware and software that completely blows its competitors out of the water. Biotechnica and Macroponics are constantly improving their software and hardware and are always looking for ways to improve the user experience for all of their products.

Biotechnica was a company founded with the intention of reducing the cost of manufacturing and producing technology for Macroponics. Biotechnica does this by using innovative new technologies and creating all of its components itself. Biotechnica is responsible for fabricating custom circuit boards, plastic shells/casings, small metal components, custom software, and even Fertilizer solutions. Because Macroponics and Biotechnica work so closely together, this has allowed the two companies to perfect the manufacturing process and cut costs for the end user. Biotechnica is a company who's primary mission is to cut out all middleman costs involved in the creation and manufacturing of the GrowRight system. Biotechnica is proud to have assembled a large repertoire of tools and equipment that allows the company to produce all of its devices in house.

My name is Vincenzo Cilino and I am the founder and CEO of both Macroponics and Biotechnica. I have been working in the fields of horticulture and technology for most of my life. My interest in this field started when I was a young boy tending to my parents garden. I remember having spent many hours carrying water from the front yard to the backyard only to produce subpar crops that were grown in soil. The entire time all I could think to myself was “there has got to be a better way!” Ever since those days I have been inspired to do everything I could to simplify the process of growing my own vegetables. When I created my first GrowRight computer I was very pleased with what I was able to do with the computer that I had created, but I knew that a machine as complicated as the one I created would not be easily adopted by others. I spent several years perfecting and improving the original design and over the course of several years I have assembled a team of incredible people in fields such as Computer Hardware Engineering, Horticulture, Computer Aided Design, Chemistry, Software development, Manufacturing and even website development and Marketing. My project has landed me with many unique opportunities, all of which I treasure, and has also allowed me to work with brilliant people from all over the world.
